Zionism 2000

Zionism 2000

Zionism 2000, a nonprofit organization dedicated to social change, was founded in 1995 by a group of citizens led by the businessman, Ronny Douek. The group made personal responsibility its objective, believing that it is possible to take action, possible to make a change, and possible to have an impact. Since its inception, Zionism 2000 has become one of the leading social organizations in Israel, recruiting thousands of volunteers, key social and educational professionals, business people, and philanthropists, as well as hundreds of corporations – all of whom are committed to establishing educational and social projects throughout the country.

Zionism 2000 develops and implements a variety of professional social action models designed to promote Israel's civil society. The organization is engaged in four main areas:  ALEH-Business for the Community, which was started in order to optimize and professionalize  the way businesses manage their social involvement; the City in Transition project – that seeks to promote and improve a town's quality of life by implementing a systemic model that builds community change processes based on local empowerment and the development of social capital; It's a Deal – business ventures for youth at risk; and the Reach Out to One Child project – an action model for raising and granting scholarships to children from underprivileged families.

The Rashi Foundation

The Rashi Foundation

The Rashi Foundation is one of the leading private family foundations in Israel.
Established in 1984, the Foundation is dedicated to assisting the residents of the State of Israel, focusing in particular on children and groups with special needs in the geographic and social periphery.

The Foundation is committed to strengthening the weak links in Israeli society in the national sphere, while also aspiring to enable every person to fully realize his/her abilities in the personal sphere.

Rashi's efforts are concentrated in three areas of activity – education, social services and health, with an emphasis on children, teens and young adults who are Israel's future generation.
Over the years, the Foundation has evolved from being a grant-giving body solely engaged in providing financial assistance to associations and organizations, to a social entrepreneur that initiates and develops solutions. More recently, it has also begun running programs through its subsidiary associations: the Association for Change in Education, the Yachdav Association, and the Yeadim Association. As a body that now funds, develops and manages social programs that have a strong professional and administrative base, the Rashi Foundation's standing in Israeli philanthropy is highly unique.

The impact of the Foundation's programs can be seen nationwide and affect around 10% of Israel's population.

The Jewish Federations of North American – JFNA

JFNA, the voice that represents North American Jewry, was established in order to improve the quality of life of Jews in different countries, foster Judaic studies, help the needy, rescue Jews in danger, and ensure the continuity of the Jewish people. JFNA is the largest and most effective supplier of social services in the world, raising roughly $2 billion annually to support community projects in North America, Israel and other places across the globe.

JFNA is the umbrella organization for about 100 Jewish Federations and 400 independent communities that serve more than 5 million Jews in the United States and Canada. Every year, the Jewish Federations send approximately one-third of the money that is raised to Israel, which is allocated by their local partners – the Jewish Agency and JDC-Israel.

The Gandyr Foundation

The Gandyr Foundation

The Gandyr Foundation is an Israeli family foundation founded in 2004 by Judith Yovel Recanati and her family: her late husband Dr Israel Yovel ,and her three daughters, Daria Yovel-Azury, Noa Yovel-Maoz and Gili Yovel. The name Gandyr is composed of the first letters of the family members’ names: Gili, Noa, Daria, Yehudit and Rolly.

The Foundation works to strengthen Israeli society and focuses mainly on supporting civil society organizations that take social and moral missions upon themselves.

When creating the Foundation two central goals were brought together:

The first goal was to connect the next generation of the family to the philanthropic cycle. The second goal was to professionalize the paths of action of the supported organizations in order to create a type of social investment that has a strong influence on the fields the Foundation is active in.
