Leading cross-sector collaborations for social change
The Collective Impact approach defines principles of action for solving complex social problems through a unique, cross-sector partnership between various stakeholders. The approach was developed in the United States in the first decade of the 21st century, and Sheatufim was the first to implement it in Israel.
In the past 15 years, we have operated by utilizing two main action strategies: Collective Impact and Public Participation Processes in government ministries. In this context, we led cross-sector initiatives to address systemic and chronic problems in Israeli society, and provided support to many government offices, including the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and the State Comptroller, in decision-making processes and policy formulation.
Knowledge development and strategic dissemination have always been one of Sheatufim’s key activities, both for the purpose of expanding the organization's influence and for the professionalization of the field. In recent years, we have focused on the development of unique models and tools for cross-sector collaboration for physical and online public participation processes, and for initiatives like Collective Impact and Impact Spheres. In all of these, emphasis is placed on the development of applicable knowledge that combines theory from Israel and abroad with insights from the field, and making it accessible to all actors and stakeholders.
